Dr. William has been invited to speak about sporting injuries that he has seen in Dubai, and how he has surgically managed stiff and painful shoulders and torn rotator cuffs.
AOSSM Annual Meeting July 2013
Dr. Murrell attended the Annual of Meeting of AOSSM of which he is a member. During the meeting he attended the EARTH Group meeting, Early Arthritis Therapies. The Retrospective Feasibility Study that Dr. Murrell’s research team completed. This was the first international multicenter study that was completed in Dubai Healthcare City, and was done in the company of some of the best research institutions in the world such has the Hospital for Special Surgery-New York, Stanford University, University of Pittsburgh, and the Steadman-Hawkins Clinic. Also attended the American Journal of Sports Medicine Reviewers Meeting.
June 2013 TOBI – Murrell Orthopaedics
Dr. Murrell attended an executive education course at Harvard Business School, to learn how to leverage new technology, so that more patients can be helped, with better outcomes, and lower cost. How about that for access to care?!!!
In the early part of the month, Dr. Murrell gave a lecture at the 4th Annual The Orthobiologic Institute Seminar (TOBI), entitled “Safe and Compliant Cell Based Therapies in Musculoskeletal Medicine. His lecture was well received, and it chronicled the work of his research group in Dubai, to translate safe and effective stem cell technologies from the lab to the patient.
May 2013 2nd Shoulder Summit
Dr. Murrell presented two lectures on Arthroscopic Rotator Cuff tears at this Shoulder Summit annual meeting here in Dubai.

For the second time, Dr. Murrell served as the Head Tournament Physician, he and his team performed a superb job in making sure that all competitors were fit and in top form for the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championship 2013.

Dr. Murrell published this book chapter in a popular review book for orthopaedic training, as well as board preparation.

This article highlighted cutting edge treatments in regenerative medicine. Stem Cells, PRP, BMAC, and others were discussed.

Dr. William delivered one lecture on Stem Cells, and another on Total Shoulder Replacement at the Academic Medical Center, in Dubai Healthcare City.
May 2012
Dr. William travelled to Johannesburg, South Africa to lecture on two ACL topics, and moderate a second knee session. From there he travelled to Cape Town South Africa to work with legendary Shoulder Surgeon, Dr. Joe de Beer, of the Cape Shoulder Institute. He and his associate Dr. Karin van Rooyen demonstrated excellent surgical technique in rotator cuff repair, instability, acromio-clavicular joint reconstruction, resurfacing humeral arthroplasty, total shoulder replacement, reverse total shoulder replacement. The clinical fellowship was a transformational experience.
