Study: Femoral nerve blockade leads to poor isokinetic quadriceps strength after ACL reconstruction
Now this is interesting, because I prefer to perform all acl reconstructions under single shot femoral nerve block. In my experience it really helps with post operative pain. However I do notice significant atrophy with the quad in some patients, and difficulty regaining function and girth, sometimes persistently. This should probably be looked at prospectively.
